Salustiana
Original variety of the Valencia has had a recent commercial development in South America. Their fruits are from medium size to big; smooth rind and of average thickness. Her soft and delicate flesh turns her into an orange of great demand. Almost it does not has seeds, and possesses a sweet and delicious flavor, and is very juicy.
It is sold from the middle of June until beginning of August.
Probably of Portuguese origin, it is considered to be the leading variety worldwide. The fruits are of medium caliber size, its rind is of good color, thin and consistent. The flesh also has good color, with high contents of tasty and attractive juice with few seeds or almost none.
Its particular characteristics make the Valencia an excellent choice for fresh consumption as well as for juice. The exportation calendar runs from middle of July up to late December
