It is a tangelo originated in Florida, USA, and it is known from beginning of the decade of the 30s. It is the result of a crossing of the grapefruit Duncan with the Dancy mandarin. It is a fruit of a reddish - orange exceptional colour, of smooth rind and of easily peeled. The flavour is very agreeable and the percentage of juice is very high. The size of the fruit tends to be big and of round form. The majority of the fruits have a pronounced neck that allows the consumers to recognize it easily. In general it has few seeds or none depending if the plantation is far or not from any variety that could pollinate it. Also it is harvested from the middle of June to the end of July.
